Frequently Asked Questions
What is your service coverage area?
We serve the entire DFW metroplex.
Will you go to my customer’s house and then bill me for it?
Yes, and we are happy to do so, saving you and your customer the time and trouble associated with keeping the vehicle at the shop longer or getting the vehicle back to the shop for the repair. If it makes more sense to go to your customer, just give us their information and we will contact them, complete the repair at their convenience, and then bill you.
Can you repair a component that is heavily textured?
Yes. Any component that has a faux natural or natural texture can almost always be restored to its original finish. This represents over 95% of all textures found in cars. The only textures that cannot be replicated are textures that appear to be geometric (such as circle, square, or hexagon patterns).
What kinds of vehicles do you work on?
All kinds. We restore primarily late model luxury cars, but repairs are possible on the components of any vehicle generally less than 8-10 years old, including boats and aircraft.
Do you detail cars?
No, but we can do spot stain removal and frequently recondition dingy leather seats that often require dyeing. Our technicians do not carry the appropriate equipment to entirely detail a car.
In addition to performing repairs, do you also reupholster seats?
None of our technicians are upholsterers, nor do we carry any inventory of fabrics or sewing machines. But we work closely with a network of upholstery shops to provide this service to you when needed. Our customers appreciate being able to utilize The Gold Team as a one-stop shopping service, taking advantage of our wholesale pricing terms and the convenience of our pick-up and drop-off service.
Will the repair deteriorate over time?
Our repairs restore each component to their original finish and durability. You can be confident the component will retain its appearance for years to come. Ultimately, how well the component looks over time is a function of how it became unsightly in the first place and how it is cared for going forward. For example, if the leather driver's seat in your 3 year old vehicle is worn and faded (due to constant getting in and out), it is reasonable to expect this problem to happen again in a few years. On the other hand, if you accidentally gouged a door trim panel one day while unloading something, then a repair to this component should retain its like new appearance indefinitely (unless you accidentally gouge it again).
